Chest points in Total Battle: how clan scoring works

Your leaders choose the contribution weights. A useful score makes that choice visible and applies it consistently.

In short

Chest points for clan contribution goals are set by the clan's leaders. They weight chest activity to reflect the clan's priorities. That custom total is separate from the game's wealth meter, tournament score and the contents of any chest.

What you need

A clan contribution score starts with a leadership decision: which chest activity should count, and how much weight should each kind carry? There is no universal table to borrow as the game's official contribution score.

You need a clearly defined chest record, a set of leader-chosen weights and a reporting period. You also need to explain what the score is intended to encourage, such as regular exploration, participation in selected events or a broader contribution habit.

Keep this score separate from Clan wealth. The official clan-menu guide describes wealth accumulating through opened gifts. That game system is not a formula your officers replace by editing a participation target.

Tournament points are another separate measure. The official event guide says tournaments have their own goals, rankings and division conditions. A strong custom chest score does not establish a player's rank in those events.

Step 1: Define the activity being counted

  1. Decide which chest activity the clan's goal includes.
  2. State how credit is assigned to a contributing member.
  3. Choose the time basis used to place activity in the reporting period.
  4. Explain exclusions before members begin working towards the goal.

A chest can be earned, received and opened at different moments. Do not silently alternate between those moments when a member is close to a period boundary. The rule should be understandable before a disputed total appears.

The catalogue distinguishes chest entries using their identity and quality metadata. Similar displayed names do not guarantee that every chest represents the same activity or effort. When defining categories, check the source, level and quality rather than using a familiar-looking title as the entire rule.

Step 2: Choose weights that match the goal

  1. Write down the activity you want the score to reward.
  2. Group eligible chest types in a way members can recognise.
  3. Assign weights through the clan's leadership process.
  4. Publish the categories and weights before using them for a target.

A weighting choice is a policy choice. Giving a category greater weight says it matters more to this clan's current goal; it does not prove that the game values that category more highly in every context.

Avoid copying another clan's numbers without its purpose and membership context. A plan designed around highly developed armies can become a poor participation target for members who are still unlocking those activities.

There are deliberately no proposed numeric weights here. Your leaders should choose them for your clan and label them as that choice, rather than presenting an illustrative table as a game rule.

Step 3: Calculate the weighted total

  1. Group the eligible chest activity by the chosen categories.
  2. Multiply each category's count by its assigned weight.
  3. Add the category results for the member's contribution total.
  4. Keep the underlying counts available beside the score.

The count answers how much eligible activity was recorded. The weighted score answers how that activity maps to the clan's chosen priorities. They can move differently when members contribute different mixtures of chest types.

Different totals answer different questions
MeasureWhat it answers
Eligible chest countHow much included chest activity was recorded?
Weighted contribution scoreHow does that activity fit the leaders' chosen weights?
Game wealthWhat shared progress does the game's wealth system show?
Tournament pointsWhat does that event's scoring screen credit?
Chest contentsWhat items did the awarded chest provide?

A chance percentage inside a chest is not a participation weight. Likewise, the amount of an item inside a gift is not automatically the number of contribution points the clan should award for that gift.

Step 4: Compare the same period and rules

  1. State the reporting period clearly, including its time reference.
  2. Confirm that all compared members use the same eligibility rule.
  3. Keep the same weights throughout the comparison.
  4. Explain any correction with the affected activity and rule.

Changing a weight changes the meaning of the total. If leaders decide to revise the policy, give members a clear effective period rather than silently applying a different standard after they acted.

A member who joined partway through a period also has a different opportunity to contribute from a member present throughout it. Decide how the clan handles that situation before turning the total into a membership decision.

The clan-management guide provides the broader leadership context. The score works best when members can connect a rule to a purpose, rather than treating an unexplained total as a complete judgement of contribution.

Troubleshooting

My count is higher but my score is lower

Check the category mix and assigned weights. A larger count does not necessarily produce a larger weighted score when the counted activities have different values under the clan's policy.

My total differs from the game's wealth meter

They measure different things. Use the wealth guide for the game's opening and distribution rules. Do not force the custom score to match a meter whose calculation it was not designed to reproduce.

An activity appears in a different period than expected

Check the agreed time basis and boundary. An earned gift and its later opening can belong to different periods under different conventions. Establish which convention the report uses before calling the discrepancy an error.

A familiar chest seems to have the wrong weight

Check the chest's source, level and quality against the category definition. Similar names are not enough to establish identical identity or identical policy treatment.

Common mistakes

  • Presenting a leader-authored score table as the game's universal rule.
  • Comparing raw counts with weighted scores as if they were the same total.
  • Treating item drop chances as contribution weights.
  • Changing weights or reporting boundaries without explaining the effective period.
  • Making membership decisions from the score without checking eligibility and opportunity.

Next steps

Write the clan's purpose, eligible categories, weights and reporting period in a place members can consult. Check the calendar when choosing a period that includes the activities you intend to encourage.

The chest-tracking setup guide covers setting up the activity view. Keep the leadership policy visible beside whichever report the clan uses.

FAQ

Who sets a clan's chest contribution points?

The clan's leaders choose the weights used for their contribution goals. Label those weights as clan policy rather than an official game table.

Is there a universal chest-point calculator?

A calculator needs the clan's chosen weights and included activity. Without those inputs, a weighted contribution total has no agreed meaning.

Is a weighted score the same as Clan wealth?

No. The game wealth system has its own opening and distribution rules. A custom score measures the policy your leaders selected.

Why retain counts beside the score?

Counts show the underlying activity. The score shows how the leadership weights interpret it, which helps members understand differences between totals.

Can leaders change the weights?

They can revise their policy, but should explain the effective period and apply the change consistently. Do not disguise a new policy as a correction to the game's rules.
