What it is
Shadow Invasion is the epic battle against the Shadow City. Its defining combination is your Hero and Captains attacking together, with Conquest points as the distinctive progression reward.
The official epic battle rules allow the hero and captains together and pay a large amount of Conquest points. In the event window your score is Shadow Invasion points.
The family also includes Doomsday, Armageddon, Arachne's Swarm and Hellforge. Their different leader rules are part of the rotation: a hero-only inferno setup or lone-captain undead setup does not use this event's full allowance.
| Rule | Value |
|---|---|
| Events in the epic family | 5 |
| Family events active at a time | 1 |
| Hero in the combined attack | 1 |
| Captains that can join the hero | 3 |
When it runs
Use the calendar and the current tournament timer to choose a shadow session. The table shows the game's calendar for normal kingdoms when you open the page; seasonal kingdoms can differ.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Repeats every | 24 days |
| Active window | 2 days |
| Current or next start, UTC | Tue, Nov 17, 17:00 |
Claim completed personal-goal rewards before the event ends: unclaimed goals are lost at closing, so end the session in the claim panel, not on the final attack.
Who can take part
Fight the Shadow City in the kingdom where it appears, with the allowed hero-and-captains setup. Check that the intended combat captains are available rather than assuming a saved gathering team is suitable.
Hero level determines the division unless the current event states an exception. Personal-goal difficulty and rewards scale with army level. The combined leadership allowance does not remove those brackets or make another account's milestone ladder your own.
For members who normally play Arachne's Swarm, the extra preparation is the hero. Check the hero's combat equipment and talents alongside the captain equipment before the clan's shadow session begins.
How attacks and points work
Attack the shadow target for Conquest points and follow Shadow Invasion points in the tournament's goal panel.
Like the other epic battles, progress depends on monsters killed within the target: the squad does not have to fall for a march to earn progress, but an attack that kills no monster earns nothing.
Choose combat specialties for the combined team
The official captain guide lists Hercules for Army strength and Army health against epic monsters. Dustan has a Conquest points bonus. Those specialties address different parts of the event: damage against the epic target and the conquest reward.
General army or matching troop specialties can support the remaining choices. Cleopatra provides Army strength, Ramses II provides Army health, and Aydae supports Guardsmen. Choose according to your developed captains and the troops you intend to send rather than treating every captain as interchangeable.
The troop guide gives Guardsmen anti-monster bonuses. Their target remains a monster even though the event pays conquest progression; do not assume the reward currency turns this into a city battle requiring a city-attack army.
- Open the Shadow City and inspect the defending traits.
- Select the hero and intended combat captains with fighting equipment.
- Prepare relevant battle bonuses and your monster-focused troops.
- Attack, follow the event goals and claim unlocked rewards before closing.
Community guides give fixed layer ratios for epic marches; they are player advice, not game rules. The stacking guide explains the principle behind them.
The game doesn't publish a fixed formation or how much a loss adds to conquest progression. Check current official guidance before relying on either.
Rewards and chest chances
Besides Conquest points and personal-goal rewards, the shadow fight can award clan chests; Shadow Chest is this event's chest.
Each percentage is the chance of that reward once you open Shadow Chest, not the chance of earning the chest.
| Reward entry | Declared chance |
|---|---|
| Reset Talent points | 13.6% |
| Gold | 11.6% |
| City teleporter | 9.5% |
| Lumber | 7.5% |
| Stone | 7.5% |
| Iron | 7.5% |
| Epic Tar | 2% |
| Tar | 1.4% |
The event's progression reason is conquest. If your immediate aim is Valor points and captain experience instead, compare the undead event before committing the same army resources to a different objective.

Common mistakes
- Sending a lone-captain or hero-only setup out of habit.
- Using a city-attack army solely because the event awards conquest progression.
- Treating a chest total as a fixed conversion of Conquest points.
- Leaving completed personal goals unclaimed at the end.
