What it is
Clash of Kingdoms is a kingdom-versus-kingdom tournament. Players travel to eligible enemy kingdoms, take Banners from their cities and hold them for tournament points. The official guide explains the banner rules, league limits and kingdom rewards.
The event is separate from Clash for the Throne, which concerns the contest for the throne inside a kingdom. Here, the opponent is another eligible kingdom, and the scoring objective is held banners rather than the throne election.
The central trade: taking a valuable banner also creates a defensive obligation. An offensive victory starts the holding period; it does not finish your responsibility for the banner.
When it runs
Use the calendar and current tournament timer to plan the attack and holding windows. The table is the schedule for normal kingdoms; seasonal kingdoms can differ.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Repeats every | 12 days |
| Active window | 1 day |
| Current or next start, UTC | Wed, Nov 11, 17:00 |
Announce the period when clan support will be available, not only the opening attack time. Members who will leave soon after the offensive march need to understand the protection restriction before they take an enemy banner.
Who can take part
Kingdoms still under their opening protection do not take part (game calendar). In the event window or global map, check your current league and the eligible opposing kingdoms before sending troops.
The official scoring rule restricts opponents to your league. Attacking a kingdom outside that league does not earn tournament points. There is no Might limit inside a league, so an eligible opponent can be far stronger than you.
| Requirement | Official threshold |
|---|---|
| Capitol level | 10 |
Below that level a city has no banner of its own to take.
How banners and points work
Choose a banner and eligible opponent
A banner's level equals the original city's Capitol level. Higher-level banners give more points while held. Inspect the banners inside a city before deciding whether its battle risk fits your plan.
The event distinguishes enemy banners from home-kingdom banners. A city can hold banners taken through earlier attacks, so its contents matter alongside the banner originally belonging to that city.
- Check the event's current league and eligible opponent list.
- Inspect the intended city and the banners held inside it.
- Agree the attacking army and defensive support before travelling to the target kingdom.
- After a successful attack, check the banners held in your city and remain available for the agreed support period.
Understand the protection restriction
You cannot use Shield of Peace while holding an enemy banner. Another kingdom's successful attack can take the held banners away. The defensive plan therefore belongs before the offensive march, rather than after a threat appears.
The event does not permit taking banners from players in your own kingdom. When a successful attack recovers a home-kingdom banner from an opponent, it returns to its original owner. This is a recovery rule, not a way to distribute banners between friendly accounts.
Observe the portal limits
The official guide also limits which portals you can attack. Portals opened by players from kingdoms other than your own or the kingdom you are visiting are not valid attack targets under the stated rule.
Sending a march to a disallowed portal produces no battle report because the attack does not take place. Check the portal's kingdom relationship instead of treating every portal visible on the map as an eligible tournament fight.
Know what changes after the ranking
The current official guide describes promotion and relegation based on the kingdom's final place. Higher leagues provide more personal goals and richer rewards, so the kingdom result affects the next competition as well as the current payout.
| Kingdom places | Number affected |
|---|---|
| Highest places promoted | 2 |
| Lowest places relegated | 2 |
The game doesn't publish a banner-score formula, the exact timing of point accrual or the exceptions for kingdoms at a league boundary, and seasons can differ. Check the live event rules before relying on a final-minute tactic.
Rewards and chest chances
The best kingdoms earn Gold Ingots for the Royal Treasury, and Golden Mountain sites become available for players. These kingdom rewards are different from the points accumulated by holding banners.
The game also ties Abandoned Chest to this event. Which personal goal or ranking place awards it is not confirmed yet (see the note below).
| Reward entry | Declared chance |
|---|---|
| Speedup | 18.1% |
| Gold | 14.1% |
| March Speedup | 12.6% |
| Speedup | 10.3% |
| Speedup | 5.9% |
| Silver | 5.1% |
| Conquest points bonus | 0.9% |
| Portal | 0.2% |
Each percentage is the chance of that reward once you open the chest. Speedup appears three times because the chest holds three different speedups of that name.
Which milestone awards the chest listed for this event, a personal goal or a ranking place, isn't published. Check the live reward panel before planning for it.
A plan for your clan
Keep Shadow Invasion separate on the calendar: its conquest progression comes from an epic target, while this tournament scores held enemy banners. Use the clan-management guide to assign the defensive support responsibilities before the border crossing.
Common mistakes
- Attacking outside the current league and expecting tournament points.
- Choosing a high-level banner without planning how to hold it.
- Expecting the peace shield to remain available after taking an enemy banner.
- Trying to pass banners between players in the same kingdom.
- Sending a march to a disallowed portal and waiting for a battle report.
FAQ
What determines a banner's level?
The original city's Capitol level. Higher-level banners provide more points while held.
Can I shield while holding an enemy banner?
No. Shield of Peace is unavailable while you hold an enemy banner.
Can attacks against any kingdom score?
No. Scoring opponents must share your league. Check the current eligible opponent list.
What happens to a recovered home-kingdom banner?
It returns to its original owner after the successful recovery attack. The rules do not permit friendly banner transfers.
Is this the throne-election event?
No. Clash for the Throne is the separate throne contest; this event is the cross-kingdom banner competition.
