In short

Rise of the Ancients follows Ancients' Treasure. Vault raids earn coins for clan artifacts that determine the later epic battle's summons, rewards and available time. Settle membership and the summon plan before preparation starts.

What it is

Rise of the Ancients is a clan epic battle prepared through Ancients' Treasure. In the earlier event, members assemble a map, raid the Vault of the Ancients and earn Ancients' Coins. The clan invests those coins in artifacts that shape the later summoned squad.

The official guide treats them as one event in two days: map and vault raids during preparation, then the summon during the epic battle. The game calendar lists them as two entries, so announce them separately.

The named Golden Guardian appears in the Ancient force, and attacks earn Golden Guardian points. Those points advance personal goals and the linked Triumphal Challenge! quests, alongside Valor points, Experience and clan chests.

When it runs

Use the calendar to organise both windows. These normal-kingdom starts are read from the game's calendar when you open the page; the summoned squad's lifetime is a separate artifact-dependent timer inside the battle event.

A member can complete preparation without being online at the later summon time. Announce the summon separately, after checking the actual time available from the clan's artifact investment.

Who can take part

Membership must be settled before the run. The official guide requires the membership period below; leaving and rejoining resets it. Teleporting the clan to another kingdom also resets membership timing and can block participation.

Eligibility and map requirements
RequirementValue
Required clan membership before participation24 hours
Fragments needed to assemble the map6
Vault level from which research materials are available15

A member joining after preparation has begun cannot complete its map. Schedule clan moves outside the linked events rather than expecting a return to the same clan to preserve eligibility.

The highest vault level you can locate depends on your Guardsmen level. Access to a higher vault does not oblige the clan to raid it immediately; pick a target the attending armies can complete.

How preparation and the summon work

Complete the map and raid the vault

Map fragments come from daily quests during preparation. Claim the quest rewards, assemble the map and use it to locate your Vault of the Ancients. Raids combine the participating members' armies after the chosen gathering time.

  1. Complete daily quests and claim their fragment rewards.
  2. Assemble the map and locate a vault at the agreed level.
  3. Share the location, start the raid and let members join during its gathering window.
  4. Spend the resulting Ancients' Coins according to the clan artifact plan.

Vaults meeting the research threshold contain Scientific Tractates, credited to the Clan Capital after a successful raid. Participants also receive event coins, with rewards affected by player development and vault level.

Special vault-raid recovery terms
RuleChange compared with normal
Revival cost90% lower
Irretrievable losses50% lower

Those terms belong to vault raids. The later epic battle is a different fight; do not carry the preparation discount into a recovery estimate for the Ancient squad.

Invest in the named clan artifacts

There are 3 artifacts. Their roles are fixed, but the appropriate investment depends on the clan's intended summon schedule and fighting capacity.

What the artifacts change
ArtifactEffect
Tome of KnowledgeIncreases Valor points, Experience and tournament points from the epic battle
Enchanted FigurineIncreases the available summons
Mysterious ClockExtends the squad's time on the map

If attendance is spread across time zones, discuss the clock before buying summons the clan cannot use. If the available fighting time is already sufficient, compare the next summon with the point-bonus investment. Community advice is to fund the clock first; that is player advice, not a rule.

Summon and advance the Ancient squad

Only the clan leader and officers with the superior rank can summon the squad. Reserve the map space and have the intended participants ready before summoning.

Squad progression and ranking
DetailValue
Free map tiles required4
Starting squad level for a new clan1
Clans receiving tournament ranking rewards100

The highest attained squad level persists between events and increases after the previous squad is defeated. Seal of Suppression from DARK OMENS can lower the squad level.

Some records suggest artifact progress resets when the battle event ends, but no official source states it. Check in the game before planning a fresh investment each run.

Rewards and chest chances

Each victory over the squad awards clan chests; Golden Guardian Epic Chest is one of them. Its contents are below. The event's other chests (other qualities, milestones) have contents of their own.

Contents chances for Golden Guardian Epic Chest
Reward entryDeclared chance
Tar14.7%
Epic Tar14.2%
Rare Tar14.2%
Dragon Coins14.2%
Gold14.2%
Sacred Potion14.2%
Silver10.1%
Silver4.1%

Each percentage is the chance of that reward once you open the chest. Silver appears twice because the chest holds two different rewards of it.

The game doesn't publish a schedule of partial reward releases by level, or how points convert to chests. Check the current Ancient squad rules in the game.

A plan for your clan

Use The Great Hunt for a different kind of clan monster session, and Trials of Olympus when planning around daily trials. Assign the Ancient summon responsibility through the clan-management routine.

Common mistakes

  • Joining late and expecting to complete the preparation map.
  • Moving or rejoining the clan without allowing the membership timer to restart.
  • Spending coins without agreeing the artifact objective.
  • Summoning before members are ready or the required map space is free.
  • Applying the vault-raid recovery discount to the later epic fight.

FAQ

Where do map fragments come from?

Daily quests during Ancients' Treasure. Claim their rewards and assemble the map before locating a vault.

Which artifact increases the battle time?

Mysterious Clock. The book improves battle rewards and the figurine increases summons.

Does the Ancient squad level reset each run?

The attained level persists and rises after the previous squad is defeated. Seal of Suppression can lower it.

Does returning to the same clan preserve eligibility?

No. Rejoining resets membership time, and a clan teleport can do the same. Settle moves before preparation.

Can every member summon the squad?

No. The official guide reserves the summon for the clan leader and officers with the superior rank.
