What it is
Clash for the Throne chooses the next King of the kingdom. The official rules describe a scoring phase followed by an election: first earn political standing, then use delegates to vote.
Your score and your voting power have different jobs. Conquest points determine ranking qualification, while delegates determine the election outcome. A strong combat result does not automatically elect your preferred candidate.
The event notes distinguish this internal kingdom election from Clash of Kingdoms, the kingdom-versus-kingdom competition. Plan for leadership and voting here, rather than carrying over the other event's objectives.
When it runs
| Detail | Duration |
|---|---|
| Overall event | 2 days |
| Approximate interval described in the official article | 2 weeks |
The opening day is the scoring phase; the following day is the election. The current tournament panel supplies the exact phase countdown. The supplied snapshot has no matching event row, so this guide gives no invented next start or calendar-derived cadence.
Use the calendar for your wider clan planning, but arrange scoring attendance and voting attendance separately. Someone who can fight during the opening phase may need a different reminder for the election.
Who can take part
Players compete in the kingdom's personal ranking. The official article describes the top 100 as gaining voting standing, with the leading finisher becoming Princeps and other qualifying finishers becoming Senator.
Only holders of those qualifying titles take part in the election. Confirm the actual title awarded before counting a member as a voter.
The official rules disagree about the last qualifying rank: the headline and the detailed rank range differ at the final place. Check the live event rules before promising a vote to a player at that boundary.
How scoring and voting work
Earn the scoring points
The official article lists defeating other players' armies, Shadow Invasion and rewards containing Conquest points as scoring sources. Higher-level enemy troops yield more points, and qualifying kills in other kingdoms count too.
Defending your city can also earn points. The current official rule requires defeating at least 1 enemy unit for that defensive contribution; merely being attacked does not satisfy it.
Choose fights that support qualification without exhausting the army you need afterward. If the supporting epic event is live, its point rewards offer a documented route beyond attacking players.
Turn qualification into votes
| Title | Delegates |
|---|---|
| Princeps | 25 |
| Senator | 10 |
| Faron delegate bonus | 900% |
These numbers describe voting weight, not material loot. The official article explicitly requires the bonus hero to be active and alive during voting. Having unlocked the hero is not sufficient if another avatar is active or the hero is dead.
- Confirm you received a qualifying political title.
- Agree on the intended candidate before opening the vote.
- Activate the delegate-bonus hero, if you use that bonus, and make sure the hero is alive.
- Open the tournament window and choose Vote.
- Select the intended candidate and confirm your vote before the phase closes.
You can vote for yourself or another candidate. The candidate with the most votes becomes ruler. A final tie leaves the kingdom without an elected ruler, and the result is sent to players' journals.
Understand what the ruler can do
The ruler gains access to Royal Treasury through the event menu's Palace option. It can fund personal or kingdom-wide bonuses, including positive and negative effects.
| Rule | Limit |
|---|---|
| Event titles held by a player at once | 1 |
| Title reassignment by the ruler | No stated reassignment limit |
| Moving your city to another kingdom | Removes an existing royal title |
A newly assigned title replaces an existing event title. Existing titles can remain after a ruler changes until the new ruler changes or removes them. Do not relocate while relying on a title you intend to keep.
Rewards
The central outcomes are political titles, voting access and the ruler's treasury powers. The event notes also list tiered chest rewards. The catalogue identifies the following Magic Chest entry with this event's chest source.
| Item entry | Declared chance |
|---|---|
| Most likely Speedup entry | 17.3% |
| Set of daily jobs | 10.9% |
| March Speedup | 10.9% |
| Gold | 8.2% |
| Tar | 6.3% |
| VIP status | 0.3% |
| Portal | 0.1% |
The table combines leading entries with rare notable entries. Generic names such as speedups can appear on different entries; the chance shown belongs to the listed entry, not every similarly named reward. No amount is given, and these percentages do not determine voting eligibility.
The game doesn't publish which placements earn which chest, and the ruler's title-bonus percentages are known only from players' reports. Check both on the live reward screen.
A plan for your clan
Use the clan management guide, the hunting guide, and the short-tournament overview to distinguish other activities from this election.
Common mistakes
- Treating the scoring winner as automatically elected ruler.
- Counting an unconfirmed qualifying title as a guaranteed vote.
- Leaving the delegate-bonus hero inactive or dead during voting.
- Splitting intended support into a final tie.
- Pursuing qualification without planning for the protection restriction.
- Moving kingdoms while expecting a royal title to remain active.
FAQ
Can I score while defending my city?
Yes. The official article includes defensive points when you defeat the required enemy unit minimum shown in the scoring section.
When must Faron be active?
During the voting process, and the hero must be alive. Unlocking the avatar alone does not satisfy that condition.
What happens if the election ends in a tie?
The official rules say no ruler is elected when the final leading vote totals tie. Agree on a candidate before votes are split.
Can I vote for myself?
A qualifying title-holder can vote for themselves or another candidate through the tournament's voting option.
Will my title survive moving to another kingdom?
No. The official article says teleporting your city to another kingdom removes the royal title, including a qualifying senatorial title.
