In short

Trials of Olympus is a five-day clan tournament with one trial a day: Chimera raids, solo Basilisk hunts, Lava Fountains, crypt runs in Tartaros and Briareus with three captains. Each member’s goals add rank points to the clan total. Play every day, finish the Basilisk chain and bank your Winged Drachmas between runs.

What Trials of Olympus is

The gods of Olympus test your clan for five days in a row. Trials of Olympus is a clan tournament with one trial per day, each a different fight on the World Map: raids, solo hunts, a fight over lava, crypt runs and a last stand against a hundred-handed giant. Every member’s personal goals add Trials of Olympus rank points to one clan total, and that total decides your place in the division.

Clans are placed into divisions at the start, by clan Might, members and troop levels, so you compete against clans of a similar size. Stronger clans land in harder divisions with richer rewards.

The five trials, day by day

The trials always run in the same order, one a day. Rewards for a day’s stage must be collected that day.

Five days, five fights, one clan total. The clan that shows up every day beats the clan that only shows up strong.

When it runs

Trials of Olympus returns every 24 days and lasts 5 days.

The run’s start, from the game’s calendar (UTC): Sun, Nov 1 at 16:04 (Running now). The first trial starts an hour later.

Who can rank

Anyone can play the Battle Pass and buy from the Hermes' Store. To rank as a clan, the official Help Center lists these conditions:

  • The clan was created by players.
  • It has at least 55 members.
  • It has a Clan Capital.
  • It sits in a Kingdom open to cross-realm play, not under a Shield of Peace.

Each division also has a minimum score. Check the dates on the game calendar before the run. A clan below it does not unlock even the last clan reward, so a half-active week can end with nothing at clan level.

What changed in the update

The game’s own video walks through the current rules in three minutes. Watch it with chapters and our summary. The short version:

  • Event portals. Each Lava Portal is an event portal, limited in number, that only leads into a Lava Fountain. Unused ones are removed when the run ends.
  • No more stealing Oil. You can no longer take over another player’s Lava Fountain, and Lava Oil is not lost when you are attacked.
  • Sealed in Flame. Fighting in a Lava Fountain now earns Lava Seals for both the attacker and the defender, which count toward their own milestones.
  • Fewer pile-ons. Only so many marches can be sent at one fountain, and a few low-level troops get a Mining Speed penalty.

Rewards worth planning for

The event pays through three channels: the clan ranking in your division, the event Battle Pass, and the Hermes' Store.

  • Olympus Chests from the clan ranking and the Battle Pass.
  • Clan chests and Enchantments from every Tartaros Crypt you complete. Tartaros is the only source of spell Enchantment.
  • Winged Drachmas, the Hermes' Store currency. They stay with you between runs, so you can save for Zeus' Lightning fragments or the Olympus City appearance.
  • Proof of Victory in the Trials of Olympus tournament for the winning clan. It raises the Valor and Experience bonus in future runs, for members who were in the clan when the run began.

Strategy

Spend Talent points early, and unevenly

You get one pool of Talent points at the start, and it only boosts milestone rewards claimed after you confirm it. Confirm on day 1. Players who raid together often weight Chimera and Briareus; players who play at set times often weight the Lava Fountain day or Tartaros.

Bank your Winged Drachmas

Winged Drachmas carry over. Buy Zeus' Lightning fragments when they are the last thing between you and an artifact you actually use; otherwise wait for a stronger store.

Common mistakes

  • Skipping a day. Every member’s goals feed the clan total, and a missed stage’s rewards are gone.
  • Sending a few low-level troops to a Lava Fountain. They mine slower and hold nothing.
  • Spreading Talent points evenly instead of on your strongest days.
  • Changing the clan’s members mid-run. Proof of Victory in the Trials of Olympus tournament only goes to members who were there at the start.

Questions

How long does Trials of Olympus last?

5 days, one trial a day, always in the same order: Chimera, Basilisk, Lava Fountain, Tartaros, Briareus.

Can I still lose Lava Oil when I am attacked?

No. Since the update, Lava Oil is not lost on attack and no one can take over your fountain. Fighting in a fountain earns Lava Seals for both sides instead.

Do Winged Drachmas expire?

No. They stay with you between runs, so you can save them for bigger purchases in the Hermes' Store.
